I’m Dr. Doug Emmerson, (Chiropractor) with 39 years of experience serving the local community. For the past 33 years, I have been practicing at Shop 3, 151 Princes Way, Drouin, where I continue to provide care.
We are now operating as Drouin Chiropractic Wellness Center, and we are pleased to welcome both new and existing patients. Our practice offers comprehensive care for individuals of all ages and conditions.

Dr. Doug Emmerson, born in Leongatha and raised on a dairy farm, attended Drouin Secondary College and played cricket, football, and athletics. At age 12, he sought chiropractic care from Dr. Uno Esselstrom for a back injury and later dizziness, which sparked his interest in chiropractic.

At 14, Doug considered a chiropractic career, but there were no courses in Australia. Going to America was not an option because America didn’t play test cricket!

After being injured by a cow in 1979, he found relief through chiropractic and soft tissue treatments. This led him to believe combining both methods could effectively treat biomechanical conditions.
After briefly studying chemistry, Doug began a five-year chiropractic degree in 1980. He opened his Drouin practice on October 1, 1985, where he continues to serve the local community.

Hi, I’m Barb! I’ve been working with Dr. Doug for the past 23 years, starting off as a massage therapist and a trained Chiropractic Assistant. I then went on to complete a business diploma and became the Practice Manager.

​

I’m a strong advocate for Chiropractic and Natural Medicine, as it has truly changed my life. I love this job and the opportunity to meet all the wonderful people who come through the clinic—it’s incredibly rewarding to be part of their health journeys.

Along with my other studies, I most recently completed a certification in Bowen Therapy (which I’ll be offering appointments for in the future) and I’m currently studying Nutrition.

I also run my own small business, Baw Baw Natural Health, where I sell a range of highly sought-after supplements and natural health products, available both in clinic and through my online store.

When I’m not in the clinic, you’ll find me at home on my farm, loving life with my animals and family. I look forward to seeing you in the clinic soon!
